At present, the main dimming types on the market mainly include 0-10V, PWM, R, Triac, Dali/Dali2, WIFI, DMX512, Switch dimming and other dimming methods. The following is a brief introduction to the dimming methods that some customers ask more about.

1) 0/1-10V Dimmable

Constant voltage and constant current dimmable modes are optional. The dimming range is 0-100%. When connected with 0-10V dimmer, the output current can be changed by 0-10V voltage change. With active PFC correction, EMC standard design, smooth dimming, seamless compatibility with 0-10V, 1-10V, 10V PWM dimmers and lighting control system. Although it can solve the problems of efficiency and PF, the dimmer needs to be changed, and the wiring cost is relatively high.

2) PWM

Through PWM wave on and off LED to change the forward current conduction time, in order to achieve brightness adjustment effect, dimming effect 0-100%. The method is based on the fact that the human eye is not sensitive enough to brightness flickering, so the loaded LED is bright and dark.

3) R

The principle is to perform dimming of traditional incandescent lamps by changing the resistance value of the adjustable resistor, and the principle is to use the form of series voltage divider. The circuit of this dimming method is simple, the cost is low, there is no interference, and there will be no flickering during the dimming process.

4) Dali/Dali2

The characteristic of DALI is that the system terminal control can acccurately control the lights point-to-point. Each LED light of DALI dimming will have an independent address, which can communicate in two directions. The system can identify the ID of each power supply, and the use is more flexible. 5) Triac

Constant voltage and constant current dimming modes are available, and both leading edge and trailing edge dimming are supported. The working principle is to cut the waveform of the input voltage through the conduction angle to generate a tangential output voltage waveform, so as to reduce the power of the common load(resistive load). The advantages of thyristor dimming are high working efficiency, stable performance and lower cost than 0-10V mode.

6) WIFI

Users can wirelessly control lighting fixtures by using mobile phones, APPs, etc., but this protocol is used in smart lighting, and the stability and penetration of the connection need to be solved.
